Newbergundian Cuisine
The local cuisine is both copious and substantial and reflects the Newbergundian’s temperament and robust appetite.
The county has derived its name from the West Indian word “Nyami” which means “to eat!” Native Newbergundians have taken enthusiastically to this point of history, having coined the town motto “A Great Place to Grow.” Local specialties may be found at the following establishments:
Arctic Circle. – House Specialty: unknown since the outdoor sign used mainly to broadcast birthday greetings to local residents.
Donut Place. – For late night diners, open until 8 PM. House Specialty: Salsbury (sic) Steak (sick).
Darby’s Restaurant. – Great motto: “It’s the Food.” Specialty: Pork and Beans.
Shaw’s Chinese-American Food. – With chef/owner Rick Shaw, how can you go wrong? Specialty: Chow Mein over crispy noodles rivals even the best from
Someplace Else Tavern. – Afraid to go in.
Hickory House. – Avenue N, Dundee. House Specialty: Jell-O wrestling (warning-not low fat).
