2022 Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir
One of the first Pinot Noir releases from the ‘22, but surely not the meekest. Though much of the fruit hailing from Alan Foster’s White Oak Vineyard was grafted from Clos Electrique cuttings, the wine produced from it are distinctly Ribbon Ridge –powerful and lively. Notes of black cherry, cardamon and copper accompany vibrant acidity and structured tannins that call to mind the red clay of terra cotta, though I can’t say I’ve licked any. This wine will age easily and pairs with rich foods and smoky flavors. The perfect union: a rack of ribs, a bottle of this wine, and a spring evening!
