2014 Willamette Valley Pinot noir

Everyone knows that 2014 was a big, beautiful vintage.  In this case, BIG is the working adjective.  One of our prime vineyards, Abbey Ridge, had one block of 40 year old vines that produced an extensive crop of fruit.  While wine from that block carried all the attributes of Abbey Ridge vineyard, the crop size dictated a weakness in the mid palate.  However, by blending in around 30% wine from Lemmelson Vineyard, which possessed a huge, tannic mid-palate, we have produced an extraordinary under $20 bottle of wine.  Although we say this all the time, this year we really mean it:  Run, don’t walk, or make haste to your computer to snag a bottle or twelve of 2014 Willamette Valley Pinot noir.  This wine is available only through Oregon wine retail outlets.
