2014 Arley’s Leap Pinot noir

Arley’s leap harkens from a block of Pinot noir planted in 1990 at Abbey Ridge Vineyard. The eponymous hero was Bill and Julia Wayne’s old dog Arley, who survived a jump from a second story balcony when startled by a cat.

The nose evokes complex tones of bruised cherries, straw, leather, cocoa powder, creosote bush, porcini mushrooms and rose petals. The mid palate is juicy with chewy fruit tannins, humus and rosemary.  Elements of herbs de Provence persist in the supple, creamy-textured finish.
