2012 Arley’s Leap Pinot noir

This wine harkens from a block of Pinot noir that was planted in 1990 at Abbey Ridge Vineyard.  The eponymous hero was Bill and Julia Wayne’s old dog Arley, who jumped from a second story balcony when startled by a cat.  You can sniff dark cherry, lavender, Italian prunes, cranberries and straw as well as hints of terra cotta and t-bone steak.  This delicate wine has a palate rich in red currants, pomagranate, tart cherries, horseradish and herbs de Provence. Moderate tannins appear in the nice long tailAdopt one today!
