Cameron Winery -- sustainably farmed, non-irrigated, Oregon pinot noir and chardonnay

Now that we’ve put this Fall’s incredible 2024 vintage to bed for the winter, we’re ready to celebrate. Luckily for us (and we hope, you), a luminous new release of our wines and cidres stands ready for the holidays.

Foremost among them, our wines from the 2022 vintage. After a challenging spring snowstorm and frost reduced our yields that year, we lucked into one of the warmest, driest Octobers on record. The range of ripeness in all of the fruit made for a mélange of flavors and aromatics that has translated into tantalizing wines.

Our 2022 Clos Electrique Rouge coaxed from 40-year-old vines right in front of our winery, shows a palate rich and bright with integrated tannins and long, exquisite finish. Not to be outdone, our 2022 Abbey Ridge Pinot noir could be from no other place on earth, showing the vineyard’s classic notes of black cherry, logan berry, and candied orange peel meld with mushroom, leather, and high tones like sage and sandalwood. Higher up in the same vineyard, our 2022 Arley’s Leap Pinot noir – named for Bill and Julia’s old dog Arley, who survived a jump from a second story balcony when startled by a cat – vaults onto a round and warm palate with a beautiful balance of savory and fruit aromas and a bright, mouthwatering finish.

But what about white wines? The 2022 Clos Electrique Blanc and Abbey Ridge Chardonnay suffered the most from the April ice storm so yields were extremely small.  But the wines are delicious and if you are very lucky you will find a bottle at one of your favorite retail outlets.  Our 2023 Dundee Hills Chardonnay was vinified from Abbey Ridge & Clos Electrique fruit and in our opinion, the best Chardonnay in its price range on the market! Lime leaf and orange blossom aromatics with a light touch of vanilla make us think of tarte au citron!
