2008 Clos Electrique Rouge

This wine is from the estate vineyard of Cameron Winery, planted in 1984 to 10 different clones of Pinot noir. The ambient yeasts from this vineyard site give rise to gnarly wines underlying the dark cherry and licorice notes typical of this part of the Dundee Hills. The extremely miniscule yields of 2008 (less than a ton per acre) have given rise to an intense richly hued wine of complex character. And yet, because our vines are not irrigated, the alcohol levels are only 12.7%. Lovers of Cote de Nuit, this should be your choice for a compelling wine from Oregon.
